The Charitable Foundation "Sincere Heart" together with the international organization Terre des Hommes Netherlands is implementing the international GRACE study in Ukraine.

Terre des Hommes Netherlands is an international organization that protects children's rights and fights all forms of child exploitation.

Purpose of the Study

GRACE (Global Research on Child Exploitation) is a global initiative aimed at studying the experiences, views, and risks faced by children and adolescents around the world. The study helps to understand how young people perceive their own safety, education, and rights, as well as the challenges they face in modern society.

Main Topics of the Study

  • How children feel at school
  • Whether they have experienced forced labor or pressure
  • How they perceive their safety at home and outside
  • What they think about early marriage
  • How they feel in the digital environment — when communicating and being online

Work with teenagers

Who Participates in the Study

Teenagers aged 13 to 17 from different regions of Ukraine are invited to participate. This makes it possible to hear the voice of young people, understand their needs, and form practical recommendations for protection and support programs based on the results.

How Participation Works

Group Discussion

Participation takes place in the format of a small group discussion led by a trained facilitator.

Anonymous Questionnaire

After the discussion, each participant anonymously fills out an individual questionnaire.

Duration

The meeting lasts up to 1 hour.

Parental Consent

Participation is possible only with a signed consent from parents/guardians and the child.

Confidentiality

All information is confidential and anonymous — names are not recorded, each participant receives a unique code, and the results are analyzed only in aggregate form.

Why This Is Important

GRACE makes it possible to hear the real voices of children, their thoughts and feelings. This is not a test or an assessment — there are no right or wrong answers.

The purpose of the study is to better understand the experiences of children and adolescents so that, based on their stories and vision, effective support, safety, and child protection programs can be developed both in Ukraine and around the world.

This study is an important step towards creating a safer, more responsive world for children, where their voices are heard and their needs are at the center of attention.
