Capacity building for a community-based support model

The project aims to lay the foundation for creating a sustainable support system for mothers and children who were forced to leave their homes due to the war and to integrate them into new communities.

Main Areas of Activity

1
Focus groups with mothers and children

As part of the project, focus groups with mothers and children are held during one-day and six-day camps in Lviv and the region. Their goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the participants' experience, identify key challenges, the level of service accessibility, and directions for the development of the support system.

2
Survey of internally displaced families

Surveys of internally displaced families are conducted to identify psychological, social, and educational difficulties, as well as to analyze access to state and community support services.

3
Interaction with the school environment

Special attention is paid to the interaction of the school environment, local authorities, and mental health professionals. For this purpose, discussions are organized with school management, teachers, school psychologists, and representatives of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine. Their goal is to determine an effective model of the school as a center of community support in cooperation with the "Sincere Heart" foundation and 100% for Children.

4
Strategic events

An important stage of the project was a strategic event during which the "Sincere Heart" team, the 100% for Children team, representatives of social services, school psychologists, and community leaders jointly analyzed the research results and outlined practical steps to strengthen support for internally displaced children and families.
