BO "LBF "Schyre Sertse" has launched a new project "My friend" ("My friend") with the support of the organization "Terre des Hommes Netherlands". The main goal of which is to meet the socio-emotional needs of young children and their parents in a humanitarian context. The project program is aimed at helping children aged 5-7 and their parents overcome the consequences of psychological trauma resulting from experienced violence, war or displacement. Facilitators-psychologists conduct weekly classes with children and separate classes with parents to provide support and guidance.

Classes for children include:
- program activities, which aim to help children cope with emotions and stress;
- using interactive and child-centered methods to engage children and support their socio-emotional development.
Parenting sessions include:
- providing information on how to support the emotional and psychological well-being of their children;
- offering strategies and resources to help parents cope with their own stress and problems.
As part of the “My Friend” project, mothers are provided with individual consultations with qualified psychologists to provide support, advice and psychological assistance. This helps mothers understand their emotions, solve problems, and improve their relationships with their children.
January 11-12, 2025: Weekend in the Carpathians
On January 11-12, 2025, with the assistance of the organization "Terre des Hommes Netherlands", a weekend in the picturesque Carpathians was held for mothers and children of the "My Friend" project. The nature and fresh air of the Carpathians helped everyone restore energy, became an effective method of psychological healing, allowing them to track their emotions, relax and enjoy time together in nature.
The trip program included an excursion to the Kamianets-Podilskyi Waterfall, rest at the Perlyna Karpat hotel in Slavsk, a psychological group lesson, an art therapy master class, where children and their mothers created their own joint picture, songs by the campfire, roasting marshmallows, sledding and time spent together for entertainment.
Supporting children during the New Year holidays
During the New Year holidays, our team, with the support of the organization "Terre des Hommes Netherlands", joined in supporting children from vulnerable categories. 364 children received wonderful "Happy Holidays" backpacks as a gift, filled with warmth, joy and hope.
The "Happy Holidays Bag" contained everything that can make the winter holidays even more enjoyable:
- a children's backpack;
- a thermos for hot drinks;
- a cozy blanket;
- a headlamp;
- an exciting book;
- a delicious marshmallow;
- a mug for your favorite drinks;
- instant chocolate cocoa and a set of goodies.
