«Embraces that unite souls» — the story of Ksenia and her nine children from Odesa region
October 2025
Despite all the chores, worries and constant tension, I came to the camp with one hope — that I could finally pause my daily routine and simply be with the children. Without hurry, without the daily "musts." Simply — to be together.

Large family

In our large family — nine children. Even despite love, warmth and care, at times there was a certain "distance" between us. The children became cautious, closed off, sometimes cunning, told lies or hid things. I felt that we all lacked space for sincerity — without conditions, tension or a disciplinary tone.

Just being a mother

Here at the camp, for the first time in a long time I was able to simply be with them. Not as a caregiver, not as the organizer of their lives, but as a mother. We played, laughed, hugged, and I remembered that true connection doesn't require much — you just need to stop.

The power of hugs

I realized how important it is to hug. Hugs are more than just touch. They are forgiveness, acceptance, a joining of souls felt as warmth in the body and in memories.

When I hugged my children, it felt like all the hurts, misunderstandings and tension between us melted away. We became closer again.

Hugs

A revelation for the children

The children saw that mom can be present on their level, available. This was a real revelation and great joy for me. I felt how important it is to simply be — to listen, to touch, to laugh together. Now all the hugs, collaborative games and warm words — we bring them home with us.

Together

Gratitude to the team

I am immensely grateful to the camp team — for the opportunity to pause, to feel, to live through and to understand. This is a powerful, professional team of sincere, open, energetic and deeply humane people. Their work is not just a program — it is true restoration.

Wishes for other moms

I wish every mother to trust this process. Because here, among support and warmth, you can rediscover what is often lost in everyday life — calm, trust and love.
