The week that brought us back peace and faith
November 2025

The story of Alla and her two children from a frontline region. Alla arrived at the Recovery Camp with great fatigue — from endless household chores, anxieties, and fear for her children's lives. In her heart, she had one desire — to rest a little, pay more attention to her children, and once again feel the peace that is so rarely present during wartime.

Recovery

For her, this camp became a real breath of life. Her daughter has a severe disability — Cerebral Palsy (CP), and almost every day in the family is associated with difficulties, both physical and emotional. Due to constant care, Alla often lacked the time to be alone with her son or simply to take a breath. But everything was different at the camp.

“I really liked how the play therapists treated us. They were able to unite completely strangers from different cities — like one family in such a short time.”

Support and Warmth

Every evening at the camp, there were warm gatherings, conversations, and hugs that supported and gave strength. These moments became special for her — moments of genuine recovery, trust, and warmth.

After the camp, Alla noticed that changes had occurred not only in her but also in the children. They became calmer, more open, and smile more often.

Return Home

“We all took the warmth and love, with which the whole week was filled, back to our homes.” Now Alla plans to spend more time with her children in a playful way, because it is play and shared moments that strengthen their family. And she advises all mothers who are hesitating whether to go to the Recovery Camp: it is a place where you are understood and where you learn to live with your heart again.
