“SINCERE HEART” is a charitable non-profit organization that began its journey in 2014. Its mission is to help build a society in which every person affected by war, regardless of gender, age, or circumstances, has equal access to quality psychological care, adaptation support, and social integration. We believe in a future where women, children, youth, and internally displaced persons can restore their mental resilience, adapt to new living conditions, and realize their potential. By providing comprehensive support to families and paying special attention to children, we contribute to building a strong, united, and inclusive Ukraine.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to various population groups, such as women, children, youth, internally displaced persons, and other representatives of vulnerable groups. We help them overcome the consequences of war through psychological rehabilitation, adaptation to new living conditions, and social integration. In our work, we are guided by the principles of gender equality, inclusion, and non-discrimination, ensuring equal access to quality care, support, and opportunities for recovery and development.
Key Areas of Activity:
- Psycho-emotional support:
One of the key areas of activity, aimed at restoring the inner resources, emotional balance, and resilience of women, children, adolescents, and families affected by war.
The Foundation runs Recovery Camp rehabilitation camps for children and mothers who have experienced trauma due to war. The program includes body-oriented and art practices, psychoeducational sessions, PTSD screening, as well as group and individual work with psychologists.
Children and mothers from frontline and de-occupied territories, as well as internally displaced families, participate in the camps. Children in the program are screened for signs of PTSD using the international CATS-2 protocol, and when needed are referred to partner organizations for further work with psychologists and psychotherapists, ensuring continuity of support and an individual approach to each child.
- Educational and awareness-raising activities:
Projects are aimed at developing the educational environment and supporting children from internally displaced families, helping them overcome educational and social losses, and increasing the capacity of professionals—teachers, psychologists, social workers, and community leaders—to provide high-quality support to children and families affected by war.
- Professional training and transfer of expertise:
In 2025, the “Sincere Heart” organization, in partnership with Ukraine Children’s Action Project (UCAP), created its own training platform under the Recovery Camp program, based on many years of experience in running rehabilitation camps. The platform is designed to disseminate the organization’s expertise in psycho-emotional support for children and families affected by war. In October 2025, the Foundation launched training for representatives of other charitable organizations, social workers, and Recovery Camp volunteers to ensure sustainability, quality, and expansion of the initiative’s impact throughout Ukraine.
- Research, analytics, and advocacy:
Implementation of internal and partner research, analysis of the war’s impact on the psycho-emotional state of children and youth, and advocacy of mental health, safety, and human rights issues in Ukrainian and international media. The research results are used to improve support programs and develop new effective approaches to working with affected populations.
- Habilitation programs for veterans and their families:
A comprehensive recovery program for demobilized military personnel that includes psychological, physical, social, and family support, with a focus on building new life strategies after war.
